the 2005 edition of the 2005 HSBC ITU CALEDON PAN
AMERICAN CUP TRIATHLON will also host the inaugural
"Old School" triathlon.

• July 28 Social Swim/Run Training Session for
REGISTERED athletes
A non-timed social competitive workout
Starts at 6:00 pm and will consist of a group open
water (timed) swim with the option of a post-swim
run on the race site.
Please arrive 30 minutes before start time to warm
up.

Location
Royal Ambassador Banquet Hall and Conference Centre
15430 Innis Lake Road,
Caledon, Ontario, Canada.
All registration, races, meetings, seminars and parties
are at this location.
The race location is near the village of Caledon
East which is about one hour north-west of downtown
Toronto. Caledon East is in the municipality of the
Town of Caledon.
Directions:
Take Airport Rd. to Old Church Rd. in the town of
Caledon East.
Turn east onto Old Church Rd. The first set of lights
is Innis Lake Rd.
Turn south on Innis Lake Rd and drive 1km to the race
site.
Parking:
Most of the parking will be 1km away at Robert F.
Hall school at the northeast
corner of Innis Lake Rd. and Old Church Rd.
There will be a bus transporting people the 1km back
and forth to the race site. There is no parking at
the race site (the parking lot is being used for the
transition zone.
Athletes will be allowed
to train on the site Thursday, July 28 at 12:00 pm
to 8:00 pm and Friday, July 29 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
No training will be allowed on the site after
3:00 pm on Friday, July 29 (as the site is being used
for a wedding from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm)
The site is a private property location and athletes
will be not be allowed to show up on their own for
private training.

Course Highlights
Swim:
Clean, weed-free Innis Lake. All participants will
start on the beach in wave starts. Small waves will
be created to ensure optimal fairness and safety. Participants
will swim counter-clockwise around large orange buoys.
Novice and youth triathletes will do 1 x 300m swim loop.
Junior participants will do 1 x 750m swim loop. Age
group and elite Triathletes will do 2 x 750m swims (coming
out of the water for 10m and running back into the water
for the 2nd loop of the swim)
Wet suits are allowed for the Community Novice Triathlon.
Triathlon Canada wet suit rules apply to all the other
races on this day.
Bike (map):
A 5km out and 5km back (10km total distance) loop of
rolling pavement. Ride the number of loops required
for your race (1 loop for novices, 2 loops for juniors
and 4 loops for pros, age group and duathlon. This is
a new and different course from 2004 (which was a 11km
loop) The bike course goes south on Innis Lake road
to Castlederg road, turn left (east) onto Castlederg
and go 1km to Centerville Creek Road. Turn right (south)
onto the rolling Centerville Creek Road and ride 2km
to the 180 degree turn around mark (5km mark). Ride
the same 5km back to the transition zone at the race
site. Novices come off their bikes, all others repeat
the appropriate additional laps required (1 more lap
for juniors, 3 more laps for age group tri, duathlon
and pro race).
Run:
All athletes will be running on the beautiful
tree sheltered run trails on the Innis Lake property.
The trails will have wood chips and be groomed to ensure
the footing is appropriate. Last year the run course
was not properly groomed and was not used. The 2005
run course will consist of running out and back on the
wood chip trail the appropriate number of out and back
laps required (novice adults and youth participants
will go out 1.5km and back 1.5km to the finishing line..
Juniors 2 loops (out 1.25km and back 1.25km) for a total
of 5km. Elite athletes will do 4 loops (out 1.25km and
back 1.25km) for a total of 10km. Age Group Triathletes
will go do 3 loops of (out 1.67km and back 1.67km) for
a total of 10km. The duathletes second run will
be the same as the Age Group Triathletes (3 loops of
1.67km out and 1.67km back) for 10km 2nd run. The duathletes
first run will be 3km (the same run the novice and youth
Triathletes do). This will be an inaugural run of out
1.5km and back 1.5km before starting their bike.
Transition Zone:
The Transition Zone is located 200m from the swim exit.
Participants will run 150m up a slight elevation across
grass to the transition zone parking lot. Participants
will then run a further 50m across the parking lot to
their specific area where their bikes will be located.
Participants will then push the bikes 50 additional
meters to the road where they will mount their bike
and start their 1-4 bike laps. At the completion of
their bike, participants will exit their bike at the
road, run 50m back to their bike racks and then start
their run course. The run course for all participants
is completely contained within the race property on
trails and is described in the run section. Water /
Aid support will for athletes at the exit of the swim,
at the completion of the bike and at each end of the
run loops. Medical support will occur at the transition
zone and at the turn around of the bike course.

Race kit pickups are Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July

located at 6500 Old Church Road (located 1km north of
the race site). NOT AT THE RACE SITE!
Pre-Race Training:
- Please note that C3 will have some specific training
days on the race course. The run and swim are on private
property and people will not be allowed to show up
at any time. Please consult C3's website for training
sessions and days at www.c3online.ca.
Race Week On-site Training:
- Athletes will be allowed to train on the site Thursday,
July 28 at 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday, July
20 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- No training will be allowed on the site after 3:00
pm on Friday, July 29 (as the site is being used for
a wedding from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm). The site is a
private property location and athletes will be not
be allowed to show up on their own for private training.
- C3 will be running an open water swim and run training
session at 6:00 pm on Thursday, July 28.
All race kit pickup will occur 1 km north of the race

Transportation:
The 2 race hotels are located about 40 minutes from
Toronto Pearson International Airport. The race organizers
are looking into transportation options for getting
participants from the airport to the hotels. More information
will be
posted as it becomes available.
The 2 race hotels are about 15 minutes from the race
site.
There will be transportation between the hotels and
the race site.

Fees
· All prices are in CDN dollars and include GST.
· Novice and Youth participants do not have
the Saturday night supper included in their race package
but are encouraged to purchase a ticket for the evening
awards party if they can attend. Additional Saturday
evening awards party/dance tickets can be purchased
by all participants for family/friends. This means that
all elites, all juniors, all age group triathletes and
all duathletes have the Saturday evening gala party
included in their race package price.
