C3 YEAR END BANQUET A GREAT SUCCESS. Over 100+ C3 members and friends gathered on Sat Nov 21st to celebrate another year of incredible accomplishments by members and the organization.
Evening highlights included the 9th annual Kinetico Kids of Steel Triathlon with over 750 participants. C3's 2nd annual Kinetico Running Festival where a national record of 1008 children participated in the incredible one mile run. C3 members were on the podiums in Ironman, 70.3, Olympic Distance, Sprint, duathlon, adventure and running races in 2009.
C3 was able to support 15 year old Jade Scognamillo's youngest-ever successful crossing of Lake Ontario in 19hrs 59 minutes. 2009 saw C3 athletes go to the world championships (master track, duathlon, triathlon) as well as C3 Alumni Darren Karasiuk do the 7 day Sahara Desert 250km marathon. Darren Karasiuk graciously agreed to be the evening's keynote speaker with some incredible stories and pictures of his epic race participation in the desert this past summer. The year end saw Rick Jenner step down as C3 co-chairman and Glenn Gundermann move onto the board. A speical thanks to the C3 board for another amazing year of hard work.
